I DO like a challenge. Ha! I have never taken on such a large painting before now.
The biggest before this was the basketball court mural. But I didn't need scaffolding for that. Scaffolding was a whole other beast to work with and creating this large was a learning curve for sure. But I'm so happy to present a new mural to the community of Newton, Iowa with bold color and a fun selfie opportunity with Dusty the Duck!
I really love having artwork that is for all to see and not hidden away in a gallery. I have always loved making public art with the chalk art murals. This was so nice because for once it won't wash away with the rain! I actually get to keep my work around for a while. The painting should last 15-20 years!
I had so many people stop by to chat while I was working cuz they wanted to meet the artist. That was fun. I have one lady who stopped by for a business card and now we are talking about doing a mural on her building in the spring. I can't wait!
If you or someone you know wants a mural indoors OR outdoors give them my info. I wanna do murals anywhere, anytime ha.
God Bless,
Kathy
This was the basketball court Mural I did previously.
