MIDNIGHT SAIL

“Midnight Sail” – Watercolor and Ink on Parchment Paper

When I make art for my dad I’m always painting ships. There are no words to describe the beauty of the sea. I am drawn to the sea by a powerful tug in my heart. I long for the sea as though it were heaven itself. In the winter months I find myself desperate for the comfort that water brings me and I often paint the places I want to be. Some of my most pleasant memories I have with my father have been by a water’s edge. The nostalgia of happy times come with the smell of salty air and it gives me a connection to memories that nearly fade with time.
