“Looking Glass” (sketch) – Watercolor and Acrylic on Paper
Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. (1 Corinthians 13:12)
It is dangerous to settle for what we’ve already known or have been taught. Those things aren’t the clear reality of God. When we realize we are only looking at a reflection of the vastness of God, we must look up and seek the true picture of who God is. Don’t be satisfied knowing a mere reflection. In the reflection is where people get hurt. In the reflection humans fill in the holes of the unclear picture with their own interpretations. It is in the reflection where people are chained and bound into religion. It is in the reflection where the weak are oppressed. It is in the reflection where hatred is taught. In the reflection humans add their own teaching. Don’t confuse the reflection with the pure truth of the love of God.
